What do I need to bring with me to visit the Venue?
- You will need a clean pair of shoes to wear inside the venue. Wear wellies or a different pair of shoes to walk from the car park to the venue (a distance of around 100 metres).
- There are crates and chairs at the venue, as well as one or two raised beds. Some attendees choose to bring their own crate or bed.
- Bring the essentials for your dog: lead and collar/ harness, poo bags, treats and toys.
More about the Venue
- The venue is 44 metres long and 14 metres wide.
- The surface is artificial grass, and it is cushioned by a shockpad which provides cushioning and shock absorption for dog and handler.
- If your dog has not run on artificial grass before, it is advisable to begin by familiarising your dog with the surface by walking and trotting them around the venue.
- Dogs run best on artifical grass when their nails are short and their paws are clean and dry (and not too hairy).
- Your dog must NOT be allowed to toilet inside the venue at any time.
- A clean change of shoes must be worn inside the venue.
- Inside the venue there is a full set of agility equipment including: First Contact dog walk, aframe and see saw, soft wall and long jump, competition and channel weaves, jumps, tyre and tunnels.
What else is around the Venue?
-
There is a small toilet in the caravan adjacent to the venue.
-
There is space to warm up your dog on and around the track between the car park and the venue. This needs to be with your dog on lead or under close control, as the venue is based on a working farm where animals such as cats, chickens, cows and ponies are roaming.
Where are nearby walks?
On the way to the venue, you can easily stop at The Basins, which has grassy stretches and paths. It borders a housing estate which is where the Google pin takes you - to a place to park from where you can walk across the stream straight into the basins. This is a 2 minute detour from the usual route to the venue.
